MORE ABOUT MOMOBY

How We Got Here

Almost 300,000 women die every year because of pregnancy-related causes.

In order to reduce this burden, the World Health Organisation recommends that every pregnant woman should be tested for HIV, syphilis and Hepatitis B.

Having worked as volunteer doctor in several developing countries, we personally witnessed the high mortality rates that still exist in isolated communities, where women struggle to have access to testing for these diseases.

ANTENATAL CARE FOR ALL

Inspired by these experiences, we developed an innovative fingerprick device that tests for these infections  in real-time, bringing prenatal care to where it is most needed.

OUR SOLUTION

USING A SINGLE DROP OF BLOOD

momoby is a finger prick test that performs several recommended tests, in real time.

CAPITALISING ON VALIDATED TECHNOLOGY

and backed up my scientific evidence, our product is user-friendly and has easy logistics.

SMALL, CONVENIENT, NO TEMPERATURE REQUIREMENTS

- you could literally put it in your pocket, and take it quickly to where its most needed.

As simple as that.

OUR IMPACT

HEALTHY MOTHERS, HEALTHY BABIES

momoby will allow a timely diagnosis of these women – and, consequently, a timely referral and treatment at a central healthcare facility. Transmission of infectious diseases to the babies can be reduced up to 95%.

COST-EFFECTIVENESS

Universal screening of infectious diseases during pregnancy is cost-effective. This represents healthcare savings, and money that can be reinvested in other areas to improve patient safety.

EQUITY ON HEALTH CARE DELIVERY

And, finally – we are improving access to healthcare, and reducing the inequity gap between developing and developed countries.
